Terms of Service
Last updated 8 September 2026
These terms apply when you reserve a Qurbani on myqurban.org. They are written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us before you reserve — we would rather answer a question than argue about a clause.
The short version: you reserve one or more Qurbani, each in a name you choose; it is carried out on the days of Eid al-Adha, filmed individually with a numbered placard bearing that name, and you receive a private link to the video a few days later. You can cancel free of charge, in full or in part, until the first day of Eid al-Adha. After that day the animals are assigned and cancellation is no longer possible.
1. Who you are dealing with
Your contract is with MyQurban Limited (“MyQurban”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, whose registered office and registration details are at the foot of this page. We operate myqurban.org and we are the seller of every reservation made on it, including reservations made through a link shared by one of our partners. You can reach us at orders@myqurban.org — a person reads that inbox.
You. These terms are for consumers — people reserving a Qurbani for themselves, their family or someone they name. You must be at least 18 to reserve.
2. What you are buying
A reservation buys a delegated Qurbani service. For each Qurbani you reserve, we undertake to:
- provide one sheep, over one year old, and carry out its Qurbani on your behalf, in the name you give, during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, according to Islamic rites and under the supervision of qualified scholars, in a manner valid across all four madhabs;
- have the animal butchered and its meat distributed to families in need;
- film your animal individually with a placard showing your placard number and the name you gave, and deliver that video to you by a private link.
The Qurbani is carried out in Kenya, by the platform’s field team, under the supervision of qualified scholars.
This is a service, not a sale of goods. You do not buy, own, take delivery of or receive the animal or the meat, and you do not choose a particular animal. What you receive is the performance of the Qurbani in the name you gave, the distribution of the meat, and the video that proves it. The video is evidence of the service; it is not a separate product and cannot be bought or priced on its own.
3. Reserving and paying
The price. The price of one Qurbani is shown on the reservation form and is currently $179, £135 or CA$249, depending on the currency you choose. It is the same price everywhere the service is sold. It includes everything described in section 2 — there are no additional fees from us. Your card issuer may apply its own foreign-transaction charges, which are outside our control.
How a reservation is made. You choose a currency and a quantity (up to 10 per reservation), give one name per Qurbani, and pay by card on a secure payment page operated by our payment processor (Stripe or Airwallex — the reservation page names the one in use). Card details are entered on the processor’s page and never reach our servers.
When the contract is made. Your reservation is confirmed, and the contract between us is made, when your payment is confirmed and we issue your placard number(s). We send a confirmation email to the address you gave. If your payment is declined or abandoned, nothing is reserved and nothing is charged.
We may decline a reservation — for example if we suspect fraud, if a name you gave is unlawful or offensive, or if the reservation cannot be fulfilled. If we decline after you have paid, you are refunded in full.
4. Placard numbers and your video
Your placard number. Every Qurbani reserved receives its own number, issued only once payment is confirmed, in one unbroken sequence across all reservations. That number and the name you gave are printed on a placard, and the placard is held to the camera with your animal. The number is what ties your video to your reservation; keep your confirmation email, which lists it.
Your video. Your video shows your placard — the number and the name — held to the camera with your animal as your Qurbani is carried out. It is delivered by email as a private link, usually a few days after Eid al-Adha. Connections where the Qurbani is carried out can be slow, and every video is checked against its reservation before it is sent, so please allow up to two weeks before writing to ask.
Who may see it. The video is for you. We do not publish it, use it in advertising or share it with anyone else. You may share the link privately with the people you reserved for. The link is not password-protected: anyone you give it to can watch it. Please do not post it publicly.
What is not shown publicly. Videos and images on the public site show placards and live animals only. The act of Qurbani itself is not shown publicly.
5. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel free of charge, in full or in part, until the first day of Eid al-Adha. After that day the animals have been assigned to their placard numbers and cancellation is no longer possible.
How to cancel. Use the cancellation link in your confirmation email, or reply to that email saying how many of your Qurbani you wish to cancel. You do not have to give a reason. The deadline is the first day of Eid al-Adha for the campaign you reserved in; the exact date is shown on your cancellation page, reached from the link in your confirmation email. A cancellation counts if it reaches us before that deadline.
What happens then. The placard number(s) you cancel are withdrawn straight away and nothing will be filmed under them. We confirm the cancellation by email.
The refund. Refunds are made by a person, not automatically. Within a few days of your cancellation, we refund the full price of each cancelled Qurbani by the means you paid with (to your card, for a card payment), and you receive an email when the refund has been sent. Depending on your bank it then takes five to ten days to appear on your statement. No cancellation fee is charged.
Changing a name instead. If you only want to correct a name on a placard, reply to your confirmation email before the first day of Eid al-Adha. There is no need to cancel.
Your statutory rights. If the law of the country where you live gives you a cancellation right that cannot be excluded, it applies in addition to the right above. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the following also applies:
By reserving, you ask us to begin performing the service — assigning your animal and your placard number — straight away, including where fewer than 14 days remain before the first day of Eid al-Adha. You acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed, that is once your Qurbani has been carried out, you will no longer have a right to cancel. Until then, you may cancel as described above.
6. If we cannot carry out your Qurbani
Capacity. The number of Qurbani that can be carried out and filmed individually during the days of Eid al-Adha is limited, and reservations close when it is reached. In the rare case that your payment is confirmed but no place remains — for example, because the last places were taken while your payment was being processed — nothing is reserved in your name, no placard number is issued, and we refund your payment in full within a few days. We tell you by email.
Any other failure on our side. If, for any reason attributable to us or to the platform, a Qurbani you reserved is not carried out during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, we tell you as soon as we know and refund its full price. If your Qurbani was carried out but we are unable to deliver a usable video of it, we tell you, give you the written confirmation of the supervising team that it was carried out in your name, and refund the full price of that Qurbani. These refunds are made in the same way as in section 5.
7. Dates, and what we cannot promise
The days of Eid. Your Qurbani is carried out during the valid days of Eid al-Adha. We cannot promise a particular day or time within those days, and we do not tell you in advance which day your number falls on. The dates of Eid al-Adha are fixed by the moon sighting where the Qurbani is carried out and may differ by a day from the dates observed where you live.
The animal. You cannot choose or inspect a particular animal. Every animal is a sheep over one year old, selected by the field team and checked before the Qurbani.
Acts of worship. We carry out the Qurbani according to Islamic rites, under the supervision of qualified scholars, in a manner valid across all four madhabs. Whether an act of worship is accepted is not something anyone can promise, and we do not.
8. Names on placards
You give one name per Qurbani. It may be your own name, the name of a family member, or the name of someone who has passed away. The name is written on the placard exactly as you typed it, so please check the spelling before you pay; you can correct it until the first day of Eid al-Adha by replying to your confirmation email.
You are responsible for the names you give. Do not give a name you have no right to use, or anything unlawful, offensive or misleading. We may refuse such a name and, if you do not provide another, cancel and refund the reservation.
9. This is a purchase, not a donation
The price you pay is payment for the service described in section 2. It is not a donation, MyQurban Limited is not a charity, and we do not issue donation or gift-aid receipts. We do not give tax advice; if you need to know how this purchase is treated where you live, please ask your own adviser.
10. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for failing to perform, or for delay in performing, where the cause is beyond our reasonable control — including an outbreak of disease among livestock, a closure of markets, borders or roads, civil unrest, extreme weather, an act of a government or authority, an epidemic, or a failure of power or communications networks where the Qurbani is carried out.
If such an event means a Qurbani you reserved cannot be carried out during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, we tell you as soon as we reasonably can and refund its full price. That refund is the extent of our responsibility for such an event.
11. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill and as described in these terms. If we do not, your remedies are the refunds described in sections 5, 6 and 10 and, where the law requires it, the right to have the service performed again or to a price reduction.
Our total liability to you in connection with a reservation is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for any loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of profit, or for any business loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded or limited by the law that applies to you. Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
12. Using this website
We try to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or interruptions. Prices and availability are those shown at the moment you reserve. The content of the site, the placard design and every video we produce are protected by copyright; you may use your own video for personal purposes and may not copy, scrape or reuse the site or other people’s videos.
You may not use this site to make reservations you do not intend to honour, to test cards, or in any way that interferes with its operation or with other buyers.
13. Your personal data
To carry out your Qurbani we need your name, your email address and the names you give for the placards. How that data is used, where it travels — including to Kenya, where the placards are printed and filmed — and your rights over it are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future campaigns. The version in force when you reserve is the one that applies to your reservation; the date at the top of this page tells you which that is, and your confirmation email records when you reserved. We will not change the terms of a reservation you have already made.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms and your reservation are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, Canada or the United States, this choice of law does not take away any protection you have under the law of the country, province or state where you live that cannot be excluded by agreement, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you the right to do so.
Talk to us first. If something has gone wrong, write to the address in section 16 and tell us what happened. We answer within 14 days and, in almost every case, put it right without anyone needing a court.
