For partners

Partner terms

Last updated 8 September 2026 · Version 2026-09

This is the agreement between MyQurban and a mosque, association or community group that works with us — either by sharing a link (an affiliate) or by running its own branded site on our platform (a white-label partner). You accept it by ticking the box on the application form; the time and the version you accepted are recorded on your account.

It is written in plain words because the people who read it are volunteers with a committee meeting to get to, not lawyers. Where a clause has a legal edge, the edge is stated rather than hidden.

1. Who this agreement is between

MyQurban (“we”, “us”) is MyQurban Limited, a company incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, whose details are at the foot of this page.

You (“the partner”) are the organisation named on the application form. The person who ticks the acceptance box confirms that they are authorised to accept this agreement on the organisation’s behalf.

When it starts to apply. Accepting this agreement commits you to nothing on its own: no payment is taken and no block is reserved by applying. It governs everything that follows once we approve your application — the sharing of your link, the reservation of a block, the running of your site — and it stays in force for as long as you are a partner.

Versions. This is version 2026-09. We may publish a new version for future campaigns; a block you have already paid for stays governed by the version you accepted, and you will be asked to accept the new version before you reserve another. We keep every past version and will send you the one you accepted on request.

2. What a Qurbani unit is

A Qurbani unit is one delegated Qurbani service, delivered to one buyer in the name that buyer chooses. It consists of:

  • one sheep, over one year old, and its Qurbani carried out on the buyer’s behalf during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, according to Islamic rites and under the supervision of qualified scholars, valid across all four madhabs;
  • butchering, and distribution of the meat to families in need;
  • an individual video of the animal with a numbered placard bearing the buyer’s chosen name, delivered to the buyer by private link;
  • and, for a white-label partner, the use of your branded site and back office on our platform for the campaign.

The Qurbani is carried out in Kenya by our field team. A unit is a service, not goods. Neither you nor your buyer buys, owns or takes delivery of an animal or meat; what is sold is the performance of the Qurbani and the proof of it. A campaign is one Eid al-Adha. The cancellation deadline is the first day of Eid al-Adha for that campaign, as set on the platform; it is the moment reservations close, animals are assigned to placard numbers, and nothing more can be sold or cancelled.

3. One retail price, everywhere

The price a buyer pays for one Qurbani unit is $179, £135 or CA$249, the same on myqurban.org, on every partner’s site and through every link. It is our published price for our service. No partner may raise it, discount it, surcharge it, bundle it with something else, or present it as anything but the price of the service.

The reason is fairness between communities: the service is ours throughout, and a mosque charging more or less than the one down the road would only create comparison and friction between them. Your side of the arrangement — what you earn — is decided by which route you choose below, never by moving the price. We may change the retail price between campaigns; we publish it before reservations open and will tell you in advance.

4. Affiliates: sharing a link

What you do. You share your link — myqurban.org/your-name — with your community. Nothing else. Buyers who use it reserve on our site and pay us.

What we do. We are the seller. We take the payment, issue the placard numbers, answer the buyer’s questions, handle any cancellation and refund, carry out and film the Qurbani, and send the video.

What you are paid. $39 for every Qurbani unit reserved through your link that is paid for and not cancelled. The count is taken after the cancellation deadline, when nothing can change any more, and we pay you by bank transfer within 30 days of that date, in US dollars or the equivalent in your currency at the rate on the day. No fee is due on a unit that is cancelled or refunded.

What you are not told. Your report shows how many units came through your link and what you are owed — never who reserved. Buyers on your link are our customers, and their names and email addresses are not yours to see.

What you are not. You are not our agent, employee or representative. You cannot make promises on our behalf, and you must not describe yourself as the seller or as the organisation carrying out the Qurbani. The marketing kit in your back office is written so that it says exactly what we can deliver; use it.

Ending it. Either of us may end the affiliate arrangement at any time by email. Fees earned on units already reserved remain payable after the cancellation deadline as above.

5. White label: your own site

A white-label partner sells the service to its own community, in its own name, from its own site at your-name.myqurban.org, and keeps the difference between the retail price and what it paid us. Sections 6 to 12 apply to white-label partners.

6. You are the seller to your community

On your site you are the seller and the merchant of record. You sell in your own name and on your own account. Your buyers’ money is paid to you — into your own Stripe account connected to the platform, or by bank transfer or cash that you record — and never to us. You are responsible to your buyers for the sale.

That responsibility includes:

  • answering your buyers’ questions, through the messages inbox in your back office and your own channels;
  • honouring the cancellation right — free of charge, in full or in part, until the cancellation deadline — and making each refund from your own account within 14 days of a valid cancellation;
  • handling any chargeback, dispute or complaint about a sale you made;
  • complying with the consumer-protection, distance-selling and tax laws that apply to a seller in your country, province or state;
  • publishing terms of sale and a privacy notice to your buyers. The platform serves its standard buyer terms and privacy policy on your site, naming you as seller, until you replace them with your own; if you use your own, they must not promise anything the service does not include and must preserve the cancellation right above.

MyQurban is your supplier, not a party to your sales. We deliver the units to you, and through you to your buyers, as described in section 10. We have no contract with your buyers and no liability to them. If a buyer of yours writes to us, we will pass the message to you.

7. Reserving and paying for a block

Prepaid blocks. You reserve a block of Qurbani units in advance, from your back office, and pay for it before it is allocated to you. The unit price is $104 per unit for a block reserved when reservations open. We agree the size of your first block with you; there is no minimum you have to reach before we will talk.

The price you see is the price you pay. The unit price in force is shown in your back office before you pay, together with any date on which it will change. It may be higher for a block reserved close to Eid al-Adha, because animals cost more then; it will never rise without notice, and a block you have already paid for is never repriced. The unit price is the same whether you pay by bank transfer or by card.

How you pay. By local bank transfer to the account details shown in your back office (the default, and the cheapest for both of us), or by card where we offer it for smaller top-ups. Your block is allocated when your payment is received, and your site can then take reservations against it.

Your pool. Every reservation on your site draws one unit from your block; a cancellation before the deadline returns it to your block, where you can sell it again. Your site stops taking reservations when your block is used up, and invites you to top up — which you can do at any time before the deadline, as long as capacity remains available to us for the campaign. Capacity is finite: we cannot promise that a top-up requested late will be available.

Your placard numbers. Units reserved on your site receive placard numbers from the same unbroken sequence as every other reservation on the platform, issued only when the buyer’s payment is confirmed.

8. Units you do not sell

A unit left unsold in your block at the cancellation deadline can never be sold — the moment has passed. It is released from your block automatically at that instant; there is nothing for you to request. What you then receive depends on what happens to the animal:

  • Somebody else on the platform takes the unit — another partner, or a buyer on myqurban.org. You are credited the full unit price, $104. You lose nothing.
  • Nobody does. The animal is sold on the local market where the Qurbani is carried out, and you are credited $90 — the unit price less a release fee of $14, which stands for the gap between what we paid for the animal and what it fetches. We may reduce that fee once the real figure is known; we will not increase it for a campaign you have already paid for.

Credit, not cash. In both cases the amount is a credit on your account, shown in your back office with the history of how it arose, to be put against a block in a later campaign. It is not a refund, it does not expire while you remain a partner, and it is the same for every partner — it is deliberately not negotiated one mosque at a time. If this agreement ends with a credit standing, section 15 says what happens to it.

The reason for the fee: a mosque that fears being left with unsold units under-orders, sells out, and turns its own community away. A fixed, small, known cost for an unsold unit — $14, against the roughly $75 you keep on every unit you do sell — is what makes it safe to order enough.

9. If units cannot be carried out

If, for any reason — an outbreak of disease among livestock, a closure of markets or borders, civil unrest, extreme weather, an act of an authority, or our own failure — a unit you paid for and sold cannot be carried out during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, then:

  • we tell you as soon as we know, in writing, which placard numbers are affected;
  • we refund you the unit price you paid for each affected unit, within 30 days, to the account you paid from;
  • you refund your buyer the retail price for each affected unit, from your own account, as the seller.

Worked example: you reserved 200 units and 30 could not be carried out. We refund you 30 × $104; you refund your 30 buyers. The responsibility travels down the chain and stops with whoever took the buyer’s money.

If a unit was carried out but we cannot deliver a usable video of it, we tell you, give you the written confirmation of the supervising team that it was carried out in the buyer’s name, and refund you the unit price so that you can refund your buyer.

Our liability for a unit that cannot be carried out is the refund above and nothing more — see section 16.

10. What MyQurban delivers

For each white-label partner we provide, for the campaign:

  • Your site at your-name.myqurban.org, carrying your name, your colours and your photographs, co-branded with a discreet “with MyQurban” mark, and taking reservations against your block;
  • Your back office: your orders, your capacity gauge, your buyers’ messages with a status you set, your settings, your credit history, and the connection to your own Stripe account;
  • Confirmation, cancellation and video emails to your buyers, in your name, sent from our infrastructure with replies routed to you;
  • A marketing kit generated for you — poster, flyer, announcement texts and a QR code — with your name and your address already in it;
  • The Qurbani itself: the animal, the placard printed with the buyer’s number and name, the Qurbani carried out under the supervision of qualified scholars during the valid days of Eid al-Adha, the butchering and distribution of the meat, and one video per animal, matched to its placard number and delivered to the buyer a few days after Eid;
  • The certificate of halal conformity for the campaign, published on the platform as soon as it is issued.

We do not promise a particular day within the days of Eid for any unit, and we do not tell buyers in advance which day their number falls on.

11. Card fees and tax

Your card fees. Sales on your site are charged directly on your own Stripe account. Stripe’s fees on those sales are yours; we charge no platform fee or commission on your sales. Your back office estimates what you keep after those fees from the rate you enter in your settings. Taking payment by bank transfer or in cash, recorded in your back office, avoids them.

Our prices exclude tax. The unit price does not include any VAT, GST, sales tax or similar that may apply to your purchase from us. If you are in the United Kingdom, note that a UK organisation buying services from a supplier outside the UK may have to account for VAT itself under the reverse charge, and that such purchases may count towards your own VAT registration threshold; this can apply to a charity with any business activity. We are not able to advise you on it — please ask your own adviser before you reserve a large block.

Your buyers’ payments are your tax matter. How you treat the money your community pays you — as sales, as contributions, as anything else — is decided by your own status and your own adviser. We express no view on it and nothing on the platform should be read as one.

12. Data protection

This section is the data-processing agreement between us for the personal data of your buyers. It applies to white-label partners; an affiliate receives no personal data and needs none of it.

Roles. For the personal data of buyers on your site — their names, email addresses, the names they give for placards, their reservations, cancellations and messages — you are the controller and we are your processor. For the running and security of the platform itself (server logs, abuse prevention, the ledger of placard numbers) we act as an independent controller.

Subject matter and purpose. We process that data only to deliver the service in section 10: to take and record reservations, issue placard numbers, print and film placards, match videos to reservations, send the emails, hold your buyers’ messages for you, and process cancellations you have accepted. The duration is the life of this agreement plus the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.

Your instructions. This agreement, and the actions you take in your back office, are your documented instructions to us. We will not process your buyers’ data for any other purpose. We do not read your buyers’ messages except where you ask us to help, or where the law requires.

Our undertakings. We will: keep the data confidential and ensure that everyone who handles it is bound to do the same; protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures (payment on Stripe’s page, HTTPS only, per-person sign-in, logged administrative actions, private video storage); help you answer your buyers’ requests to access, correct or delete their data; tell you without undue delay, and in any case within 48 hours of becoming aware, of any breach affecting your buyers’ data; delete or return the data at the end of this agreement, except what the law requires us to keep; and give you the information you reasonably need to show that we comply.

Sub-processors. You authorise us to use these sub-processors: Stripe (payments); Infomaniak, Switzerland (hosting, storage and email); and our field team in Kenya (printing and filming the placards, and carrying out the Qurbani), which receives the placard numbers and names, and the details needed to match and deliver the videos. We will tell you at least 30 days before adding or replacing one; if you object on reasonable grounds and we cannot resolve it, you may end this agreement for the campaign concerned.

International transfers. You authorise the transfer of your buyers’ data to Switzerland (storage), to Hong Kong (where we are incorporated and from where the service is administered) and to Kenya (the field operation), and you accept the contractual safeguards we have in place with the field team. Where the law of your country requires a specific transfer instrument, we will sign it with you on request.

Your obligations. You will have a lawful basis for the data you collect from your buyers, publish a privacy notice to them (the platform’s one is served on your site until you replace it), use their data only for the sale and its fulfilment, and not use it for marketing without their consent. Data you enter yourself — a reservation recorded from a cash payment — must have been collected lawfully by you.

13. Your name, our platform

Your brand. You grant us the right to display your name, logo, colours and photographs on your site, in your emails and in your marketing kit for the purpose of this agreement, and you confirm that you have the right to use them.

Our platform. We grant you the right to use your site, your back office and your marketing kit for the campaign. The platform, its design, the placard and every video remain ours. The co-branding mark stays on your site; the point of it is that your community can see who carries out and films the Qurbani, which is what makes the promise credible.

14. How you sell

You will:

  • sell only what the service includes, at the retail price, without adding or removing anything;
  • not describe the service in ways that are untrue — for example that the buyer will receive meat, choose an animal, or be told the day in advance;
  • honour the cancellation right until the deadline and refund promptly, as in section 6;
  • keep your Stripe account connected while your site is live, or take reservations only by bank transfer or cash recorded in your back office;
  • use the platform lawfully and not attempt to sell beyond your block, to scrape it, or to interfere with other partners’ sites.

15. Suspension and ending the agreement

Suspension. We may suspend your site immediately, and tell you why in writing, if you: fail to refund a valid cancellation within 14 days; show a pattern of chargebacks or disputes; misrepresent the service; breach section 12; or use the platform unlawfully. While suspended, your site takes no new reservations. Reservations already paid for by your buyers are still carried out, filmed and delivered — a suspension is between us and you, never at your buyers’ expense. We lift a suspension when the cause is put right.

Ending it. Either of us may end this agreement by 30 days’ written notice, taking effect after the current campaign so that no buyer is left mid-way. We may end it immediately for a breach that is not put right within 14 days of our telling you. On ending: units still in your block follow section 8; units already sold are still delivered; and any credit standing on your account is paid to you in cash within 60 days, less anything you owe us.

16. Liability

Our liability to you in connection with a campaign is limited to the amounts you actually paid us for that campaign. We are not liable for the retail margin you would have earned, for loss of profit or donations, for reputational loss, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded by law.

Your liability to us. You will compensate us for any claim, loss or cost that arises from your sales to your buyers, from a breach of sections 6, 12 or 14, or from content you supplied — except to the extent it was caused by our own breach.

17. General

  • Governing law. This agreement is governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction. This is a business-to-business agreement; it does not affect the rights of your buyers under their own local law, which are between you and them.
  • Whole agreement. This page, the prices shown in your back office when you reserve, and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us. Nothing said in a call or an email changes it unless we both confirm the change in writing.
  • Notices are sent by email to the contact address on your account and to ours below.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer this agreement, or your block, to another organisation without our written consent.
  • Independence. We are independent contractors. Nothing here makes either of us the agent, partner in law or employee of the other.
  • Severance. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest stands.

18. Contact

Anything about this agreement, your block, your credit or your site: info@myqurban.org. A person reads it and usually answers within a few working days; before Eid, faster.
